GARDEN DESIGN APPROACH
Garden Project Location: Balham, South West London
A stunning garden makeover for a wonderful family of three in Balham. They’d lived in their home for many years, but felt it was time for an upgrade.
The goal? To create an ‘outdoor room’ to echo the character of their beautifully designed home, producing a scheme and palette as if it was an interiors project – complete with floors, walls and ceiling; and blending indoor and outdoor spaces so they flow together seamlessly. Even in a small space, there’s endless potential to create something amazing.
The clients loved colour so we brought in a bold palette of terracottas and greens to tie in with the interior of the house. Seville clay bricks combined with Limestone stackers laid in a herringbone way provided a stylish rug-like effect for the two zones. We installed a pergola to bring height, but more importantly to frame the garden and bring structure to the outdoor ‘room’. We finished with structured planting, stylish tiles, terracotta pots, an outdoor mirror and beautiful statement lights to extend the character of the house.

“We have been delighted with our new garden! Katerina has been excellent to work with from start to finish! She took a lot of time to understand us, our needs and personal style, so we could refine the designs to really work for our space. Her project management made the whole project really easy for us, everything was organised, she identified and worked closely with the builders (who themselves were brilliant!) and was really responsive. The planting has brought together the whole scheme using some unusual plants we would never have thought. We would definitely recommend her!” Anna and Rob
