GARDEN DESIGN APPROACH
Garden Project Location: Clapham, London
Having purchased a property requiring extension and refurbishment, a key consideration to this design, was making a physical connection between the interior and the garden space.
With stunning tall sliding patio doors that fully open, the clients were keen on creating a garden that captivates from every angle, whether viewed from the kitchen/diner or the lounge.
The garden had an existing Tibetan Cherry tree that we retained to add instant maturity to the new garden. Ensuring privacy was important, we incorporated contemporary screening through Siberian larch slatted fencing, elevated in height, accompanied by a rear raised bed housing a row of Birch trees.
To infuse a a touch of sophistication, we opted for Limestone pavers arranged diagonally in a contemporary pattern, creating a visually striking contrast against the slab khaki porcelain paving onthe main pathways and patio. The use of statement flooring creates definition and interest in this small outdoor space.
The lighting design focuses on warmth and subtlety, fostering a seamless connection between the kitchen and garden, transforming them into a unified space in the evening. Once again, contemporary statement lighting played a pivotal role in elevating the overall ambiance.
