About Katerina Kantalis Garden Design
Katerina Kantalis is a RHS Gold Medal-winning garden designer based in South East London, creating naturalistic gardens across London, the South East and the United Kingdom.
Her work focuses on designing thoughtful outdoor spaces that feel like effortless extensions of the home. Gardens that balance structure, planting and atmosphere while reflecting the lifestyle of the people who use them.
Alongside her residential practice, Katerina has earned national recognition for her show gardens, winning Gold medals and Best in Category awards at both the RHS Chelsea Flower Show (2026) and RHS Hampton Court Garden Festival (2024). These achievements reflect her commitment to creating gardens that combine strong design, exceptional planting and a distinctive sense of place.
From compact city terraces to larger residential landscapes, every garden is guided by the same design philosophy: bold in composition, naturalistic planting and attention to detail. Originally from Adelaide, Australia, Katerina grew up surrounded by nature. Her childhood garden was filled with fruit trees, vegetables and open space — an environment that fostered a lifelong connection to landscapes and growing.
After moving to the UK, she pursued a successful career in science and fundraising, earning a PhD before retraining in garden design at the British Academy of Garden Design in 2020.
In 2022, she founded her London-based garden design studio, combining analytical thinking with creative design to develop gardens that are both beautiful and carefully considered.
