GARDEN DESIGN APPROACH
Garden Project Location: Surrey Quays, London
Inspired by a passion for the countryside and a desire for a traditional rustic garden, it was time to revitalise the family of three’s space, making it not only accessible but a haven for relaxation and enjoyment.
The initial challenge lay in an inaccessible garden due to rotting decking and overgrown shrubs, roses, and weeds. The former purpose of the garden, complete with a Wendy house, no longer aligned with the family’s needs.
Post-transformation, the rotting decking was replaced with rustic sandstone paving, extending seamlessly from the door threshold into the main garden.
A patio, perfect for a picnic table and BBQ, was created for outdoor dining. In the cozy corner of the garden, a wooden arbor beckons, providing sheltered seating for all weather conditions and a new perspective on the lush surroundings.
Stepping stones made of wood effect porcelain paving traverse the garden, adorned with Scottish pebbles, grasses, and ferns for a soft, natural touch. London stock yellow bricks formed new planting beds, harmonizing with the existing brick wall. A pond, designed to attract wildlife, introduces a sense of calm and tranquility.
